But it is all about time because as I know from my own experience, it becomes very challenging to manage something as a side-hustle along with a shackle 9 to 5 job. I started blogging as my side-hustle back in 2016 along with my office job of 8 hours.
It became very tough at the start but with time, I learned the tactics to conquer working on side-hustle along with the job. Now I am a full-time blogger, my side-hustle became my career.
So, I will be sharing my strategies(that worked for me) to manage side-hustle along with a 9 to 5 office job.

My side-hustle was Blogging, yours can be anything such as own business, e-Commerce store, freelancing, blogging, digital marketing and a list goes on as there are hundreds of ideas you can start alongside and earn some side income along with your main income.
But before we go further and discuss the strategies of managing side-hustle smoothly with a job, let me tell you the benefits of working on side-hustle along with an office job…
1) You Get Financial Support
To start a side-hustle, never quit your current source of income until you start getting reliable income every month from your side-hustle.
Having a job provides you financial support because you won’t be making money from day one of your side-hustle.
It is going to take time, but your expenses like food, rent, wifi, transport etc. will remain the same so you will need money to support them.
Your main income source(office job) would be there to support you and you will have a stress-free journey with your side-hustle.
2) Investment For Your Side-Hustle
There will be moments when you will require to invest in your side-hustle. When I was working on blogging as my side-hustle along with my office job,
I bought hosting, domain, themes and other tools through my office job.
I was having a reliable source of income at that time that invested in my side-hustle. So, your main source of income can be an investor on your side-hustle.
3) A Backup
Your main income source will still be there for you to back you if your side-hustle fails. That’s the main benefit of having an office job along with a side hustle.
Tips To Manage Side-Hustle With An Office Job
Master The Time-Management
You will have very limited time where every single hour counts for you. Start learning the time-management skill to manage your time effectively and make every single second count for you.
There will be 16 hours remaining after your job, 8 hours of sleep. You still have 8 hours left, you should learn how to get the most out of it.
Make A Schedule To Work
Having a schedule provides you with what to work on, what are the most important tasks, and what you need to finish today.
It will avoid wasting your time on unnecessary things like planning what to work on. You will have a clear picture and start working on your plan as you have limited hours to work on your side-hustle.
You can create a schedule for what to work on tomorrow every night before sleeping, that’s what I still follow.
Find Your Most Productive Slot
Everyone has a time where we work most productively, some like working at night with silence everywhere and some like working in the early morning.
Find your most productive hours in a day and assign your most difficult tasks for that slot. I assign myself to write content usually at night because I write more when working as a night owl.
Find your most productive slot and assign your toughest task there, it will help you in increasing productivity and completing your difficult tasks easily.
Use Smart Tools
There are tools available for almost every single thing, be it content writing, research, networking, designing and so on, there are tools that make it easier for you.
For example, there are AI Content writing tools are available such as Jasper.Ai which can help you in writing 5x faster, it will save a lot of your time. Semrush for keyword research and other SEO related tasks.
If you search you will find tools for everything, make effective use of tools to save time.
Work More On Weekends/Holidays
On normal days you hardly get 3 to 4 hours each day to work on your side-hustle because you are investing 8 to 10 hours on your office job too.
But on weekends and holidays, you are free from your office job and can invest increase time up to 10 to 12 hours to work on your side-hustle.
Build A Small Team
With having more helping hands, you can achieve great results.
You can outsource some of your work or hire a few people to work for you. It will help you to get the most done in less time.
Having a reliable source of Income alongside can help you by money for outsourcing or building a team.
Stop Procrastination
Avoid leaving work on tomorrow or pushing them ahead, it will increase your burden.
Stick to the schedule and finish the tasks that you assign each day.
If you find anything challenging, finish them in your most productive time slot.
When To Quit Job And Take Side-Hustle Full Time?
That’s a really big step! What is the good time to say bye-bye to your 9 to 5 shackle job?
Quitting the office job just out of chaos can lead you to financial weakness and what if your side-hustle fails in future. So, you have to reach a stable condition with your side-hustle before saying goodbye to your job.
In more simple terms, you must be earning at least 5 to 6 times more than your office paycheck, and it should be stable for at least a few months.
You can create a similar milestone that suits your conditions and once you achieved that, you can quit your job and took your side-hustle as your main business.
Conclusion
It is very tough to keep your full-time and start some side-hustle alongside. But having a reliable source of income will always back you, invest on your side-hustle.
Also, you don’t have to worry about getting failed in your side-hustle because you will still have a reliable income.
