Sumit is one of my blogging buddies. And I used to look forward to him during my initial blogging journey. In this exclusive interview with Sumit Sao, we will see no the must to do things about blogging. So let’s get started.

Welcome To Simplefactsonline, tell us something about yourself

Thanks, Chayan, for giving me this opportunity to share my blogging knowledge with your readers.

Hello Friends, I’m Sumit Sao a part-time blogger, Affiliate Marketer and founder of

BloggingLift.com

Apart from this, I’m also running a Facebook Group “Blogging Lift VIP Group” Lift VIP Group” which is joined

by 16,000+ bloggers. The main aim to create this Facebook group is to help my blogging

buddies.

I always try to provide weekly blogging and SEO tips to my blogging buddies in this group.

Also, they can ask their blogging related doubts in this group to get help from me and other

expert bloggers of our group.

Tell Us About Your Blogging Journey So Far

Answer: This story is interesting. It all started during the last semester of my engineering in 2015.

When I learned about HTML and knew that we could create webpages using it. Then I created a webpage and purchased a domain name and hosting for it. In this way, I started my first

single-page website by writing HTML codes.

At that time, I didn’t know anything about blogging, SEO, Google Blogspot Platform,

WordPress, Google Adsense, Affiliate Marketing, etc. I started that website just as a hobby.

One day I accidentally visited on ShoutMeLoud, and after visiting SML, I think that they have

also created that website by writing HTML codes. But after reading his blog, I knew about

blogging, Google Blogspot, WordPress, etc.

In this way, I started my blogging journey, and After three unsuccessful blogs, I started my blog

BloggingLift.com.

Your Reasons For Starting The Blog?

Answer: Frankly speaking, When I started my Blog BloggingLift.com

At that time, my main aim was only to make money from my blog and nothing else. At that time, I didn’t know the power of connecting with other like-minded bloggers and made lots of mistakes.

But my aim changed gradually over time. Now my main motto is to help my blogging buddies. That’s why I started a FREE help service for my blog readers and Facebook group members.

I’m not saying that I don’t want to make money from my blog. Yes, I want to make money from my blog, but my first priority is to help my blogger friends.

I also started a Blogger Interview Series on my blog. It’ll definitely help my readers to get some unique Blogging, SEO, and Affiliate Marketing tips from professional bloggers.

What is the future of blogging? Will it still be as relevant as before. I am asking this because we see that nowadays people are consuming more video content. Is this a challenge for bloggers?

Answer: According to my experience, Yes, it’ll be relevant as before. Because whenever people face any problem than they first search it on Google and check the articles.

Because it takes only 3-4 minutes to get the solution to any problem, but in the case of YouTube, you have to watch 10-20 minutes videos, and there is not any guarantee that you’ll get the solution from that video.

People want the solution to their problems quickly. So, 70-80% of them check blog posts to get the answer.

Tell us more about the Pareto principle(80/20 formula).

Answer: I learned this rule recently from the “Eat That Frog” book.

80/20 rule is one of the essential concepts of time management. It states that 80% of results come from 20% of the effort.

In simple words, you should write down all the things you need to do to achieve your goal. Suppose you’ve written ten items that can help you achieve your goal.

Now, if you analyze it deeply, then you’ll find that out of these ten tasks, 2 or 3 tasks are those who can give you 80 to 90% result.

So, it would help if you always focused on completing these 2 or 3 tasks first. Try this method for a few days and see the results.

Essential checklist for a new blogger?

Answer: Here is an essential checklist for new bloggers:

  • Always invest in a good web hosting company. Because hosting can make or break your website. Read this SiteGround vs. Bluehost hosting comparison article. It’ll help you to select the best hosting company for your new blog.
  • Use a premium good looking theme because UX (user experience) is an important ranking factor.
  • Connect with other bloggers on social media.
  • Blogging is not a rich quick scheme. It takes some time to make money from the blog.
  • Don’t publish thin articles. I highly recommend you post at least 1,500+ words essay.

If you are a newbie blogger, then you must read the above tips carefully and don’t make any mistakes.

Search engines are focusing more on user experiences. So, where does it take us in terms of SEO?

Answer: Google already stated that user experience is one of the main ranking factors. It’s all about how your reader perceives your site. If it’s looking good, then they’ll come back otherwise leave your site and never return.

Some tips to improve user experience on your site:

  •  Improve your site speed.
  •  Divide long paragraphs into short paragraphs. It’ll improve readability.
  •  Use a premium theme. Because premium theme always looks attractive and load faster than free items.
  • Use Good Font.
  • Font size should be at least 18px because if the font size is too small, then it may hurt readability.
  • Use Images, screenshots, gifs, and videos in content to stay user on your site for a longer time.
  • Improve your website layout to attract your blog readers.
  • Highlight important points.
  • Use Bullet lists to make your article more helpful for your readers.

I hope that you understood why user experience is essential and the steps to improve UX quickly.

How many posts are required to get AdSense approval?

Answer: I’m not using Adsense in any of my blogs. But still, I recommend you to write at least 10-15 articles before applying to Google Adsense.

Some other tips which you should know before applying to Adsense.

  • Must Buy a custom domain name for your site.
  • Don’t use other Ads service.
  • Use a domain-specific email address.
  • Create all the essential pages like Privacy Policy, About us, Contact us, etc.
  • Use a good looking theme.

If you were planning to apply for Adsense, then follow the above steps to get the Adsense approval quickly.

Tell us about your upcoming ventures. Maybe a youtube channel in the future?

Answer: I’m planning to launch a new YouTube channel where I’ll publish videos related to blogging, SEO, affiliate marketing, etc.

  5. Excellent interview with Sumit, Chayan.
I learned a lot as Sumit is a blogger I respect for his work and dedication to his Facebook group.

And he does make an excellent point on video vs text debate. Videos are longer and there’ no guarantee you’ll get the answer.
Text is easily scanable and once you find the spot you need, simply read and you’re off to the races.

    P.S.
I couldn’t find the share buttons on this post. I wanted to share it on Twitter.
